The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is a private foundation based in Flint, Michigan. Grants from the Foundation are made in four different programs: Civil Society, Environment, Flint Area and Pathways Out of Poverty. Their access to and interest in technology leads the way for all of society to make progress toward improved global communication and technology innovations. Grants support development, application and awareness of assistive technology. Of particular interest is Universal Design. Our interest includes the science and technology education of young people with disabilities which reflects our conviction that they themselves will lead society to overcome barriers to communication, be they barriers imposed by distance, time or physical condition. Deadline: Year-round Teacher Loan Forgiveness For a Stafford loan borrower to qualify for loan forgiveness of up to $17,500, the borrower must be employed full-time for five consecutive years as a highly qualified secondary school teacher of science or math or a highly qualified elementary or secondary school special education teacher. The increased amount of teacher loan forgiveness is only available to an individual who had no outstanding balance of principal or interest owing on any loan made, insured or guaranteed under Title IV of the HEA prior to October 1, 1998 and has borrowed eligible loans prior to October 1, 2005.
