I forget that government money often has strings, but I say accept the stimulus money so it helps the states and counties pay the teachers. I live in a medium size county in GA and when the financial crisis hit, at least our superintendent took a 2% pay cut right away. He was willing to set the standard and take a pay cut himself, unlike the AIG and other executives saved by government bailouts. I am willing to follow a superintendent like mine, although I hope it does not come to cutting my county supplement OR giving me furlough days (proposed by the state of GA).
