HotChalk and A&E Television Networks Provide Superior Resources For Teachers PDF Print E-mail

June 30, 2008 -- New York, NY. -- HotChalk, the first online education resource to connect teachers, students, and parents, today announced a partnership with A&E Television Networks (AETN), a global media content company, for a selection of programs from A&E® Network, History™, and Bio Channel® (BIO™) that will be downloadable for K-12 teachers to use in the classroom via the HotChalk Learning Environment.

“A&E, History, and BIO produce award-winning, entertaining, high-quality educational content,” explained Edward Fields, HotChalk Chairman & CEO. “Teachers, who lacked access to such educational resources can now easily use full-length videos in their classroom through HotChalk. This makes learning engaging and relevant, providing students a better understanding of the past to prepare them for the future.”

Three hundred hours of full-length programming from the A&E, History and BIO catalogues will be offered to teachers through HotChalk, including episodes from the Emmy® Award winning series, BIOGRAPHY®, and Investigative Reports, as well as Modern Marvels, The New Explorers and Ancient Mysteries from History.

“AETN has always been a leader in outreach to schools through our involvement with cable industry initiatives such as Cable in the Classroom. We’ve also developed a number of acclaimed corporate outreach programs internally such as our Idea Book for Educators™, the acclaimed Save Our History campaign and the Lives That Make a Difference campaign. We are pleased to offer programming from A&E, History and BIO through HotChalk’s full suite of class resources, which allows us to bring our content directly into the classroom in a new way,” said Andrew Wise, Vice President, Consumer Products, AETN.
